Skincare for a Cause
OVER 2.3 BILLION PEOPLE WORLDWIDE DO NOT ACHIEVE THEIR PHYSICAL AND INTELLECTUAL POTENTIAL BECAUSE OF VITAL VITAMIN AND MINERAL DEFICIENCIES.
Project Healthy Children is a non-profit organization entirely focused on ending malnutrition, one country at a time.
Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals required in small amounts that are essential to our health, development, and growth.
Many diets, especially those of rural communities, contain insufficient amounts of micronutrient, and these deficiencies are the leading cause of intellectual disability in children, maternal death during childbirth and preventable blindness among adults.
FOOD FORTIFICATION SAVES LIVES
Food fortification is the addition of key vitamins and minerals (e.g. iron, folic acid, iodine, vitamin A, and zinc) to staple foods such as salt, maize flour, wheat flour, sugar, vegetable oil, or rice, aimed at addressing the nutritional gap in a population. Food fortification is used around the globe as a safe and effective way of improving public health, helping children and adults live a healthy life.
Malnutrition is a solvable problem that if addressed improves health, longevity, quality of life, national resources and education. That’s why we are so passionate about it!
